Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Global Vectors handles, why it is needed to provide the service, who receives it, and the choices and rights available to you.
1. Who we are
Global Vectors is an independent multiplayer simulation project developed and operated by SidePhase Studio (sidephasestudio.com), a studio name used by Craig, an individual based in England. Craig is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
For privacy questions, account help or data-protection requests, use Email support or visit our official Discord community.
2. What we collect
Account details
- Username and a numeric account ID, assigned when you register.
- Email address. It is held on the server in readable form.
- Password. We do not store passwords in readable form. Passwords are protected using salted password-hashing techniques. Existing accounts are upgraded to the current protection after a successful sign-in.
- Installer approval. Whether your account ID is on the list of accounts allowed to download the installer.
Game and map data
- While you play, your in-game name, the truck model you drive, your position, and your speed are sent to the server so other players can see you.
- This data is shown on the public live map (see section 5). It stops being shown when the server has not heard from you for more than 30 seconds. This display timeout is not a guarantee that the underlying memory record has been deleted.
- The server records the network address (IP address and port) that your game client connects from. See section 3.
Technical data
- Your IP address is visible to the network that carries web requests to the site (see section 5).
- When you open the map, your browser connects directly to third-party servers for map scripts and fonts. Those servers can see your IP address and browser details (see section 5).
3. Where it is stored
- Account information. Account records and installer permissions are stored on independently managed server infrastructure in the United Kingdom. Access is restricted to the service and its operator; the application does not use separate file-level encryption.
- Live multiplayer information. Active player information is processed in memory to provide connected gameplay and the public live map. A player is removed from the live display and inactive memory state after 30 seconds without an update.
- Technical logs. The relay records connection information when needed for security, troubleshooting and service maintenance. Logs are managed by the server's system logging controls and are subject to rotation and available-storage limits.
- Your browser. The updated site stores one item in your browser's tab-scoped session storage, and removes the previous persistent local-storage copy. See the Cookies & Local Storage page.
4. Why we use it, and the lawful basis
The service uses the following lawful bases for its current beta activities. The public live map means that active players should understand that their in-game name and position can be visible to other visitors.
| Purpose | Data used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Create your account and let you sign in | Username, email, password hash, account ID | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Run multiplayer sessions and the live map | In-game name, truck model, position, speed, connection address | Contract, Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Control who can download the installer | Account ID, approval status | Legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Keep the service working, prevent misuse and investigate problems | IP addresses in system logs, account ID | Legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Keep you signed in on this device | Local storage item gv_session (see Cookies page) | Contract for the requested account feature |
5. Who receives it
- Cloudflare provides DNS, website delivery and network security for the globalvectors.app website hostnames. Requests that use the tunnel pass through Cloudflare, which receives web-request information such as IP addresses. The hostname trucking.globalvectors.app is DNS-only and is not proxied by Cloudflare. The game client uses a separate UDP connection to the relay.
- jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) serves the MapLibre and PMTiles scripts used by the map. Your browser connects to it directly.
- demotiles.maplibre.org serves map label fonts. Your browser connects to it directly.
- Other players can see your in-game name, truck, position and speed on the live map while you are active. The live map does not require a login.
- The site owner and any administrators can see account details, including email addresses and approval status, on the admin page.
The site's own pages do not include analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts. We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
6. How long we keep it
- Account information is kept while the account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce the rules. You can request deletion from your profile page or through Email support.
- Installer permissions are kept while they are needed to manage beta access and are removed when access is revoked or an account is deleted.
- Technical logs are retained according to server rotation and available-storage controls, and only for as long as needed for security, troubleshooting and service operation.
- Live multiplayer information is removed from active memory after 30 seconds without an update and is no longer shown on the live map.
You can request account deletion from your profile page after signing in. We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited information where the law allows or requires it.
7. Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have data erased in some circumstances;
- restrict how we use your data in some circumstances;
- receive your data in a portable format where it applies;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
To use these rights, contact us through Email support. Account deletion requests must be sent by email or through Discord. Include your account ID or username so the account can be located. Do not send your password. We may request proportionate evidence of identity before disclosing or deleting account data. Requests will be handled within the applicable statutory timescale, normally one month; if a permitted extension applies, we will explain it.
8. International transfers
The relay runs on independently managed infrastructure physically located in England.
Global Vectors primarily operates using independently managed infrastructure in the United Kingdom. Supporting providers, including website delivery and mapping services, may process technical information internationally. Where UK data-protection rules require safeguards for a restricted transfer, the relevant provider arrangements and transfer mechanism apply.
For more information, see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and jsDelivr's Privacy Policy.
9. Children
The service is not intended for children under 13. You must not register or use it if you are under 13. An age declaration is not verified proof of age. If an under-13 account is reported, contact us so it can be investigated. Because this is an online multiplayer service, players aged 13–17 should understand that their in-game name and position may appear on the public live map.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update the date at the top when we change this policy. Material changes will be announced through our official Discord community.
