Cookies & Local Storage
This page explains how the Global Vectors website stores information in your browser.
Cookies from this site
The site's server does not set cookies: the relay source code writes no Set-Cookie header. The site's own pages do not read or write cookies; no cookie access was found in the site's scripts.
What the site stores: one local storage item
The site uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) to store one item, under the key gv_session. It holds the account details the server returns when you log in or register:
- your account ID and username;
- your email address;
- whether your account has installer access;
- whether your account is an administrator;
- your company tag, if you set one;
- a random chat token issued by the server at login, which lets you use the live map chat. It expires after 30 days.
The site uses this item so it knows you are logged in and can show your profile link and chat. Scripts running on the same website origin can access it. Changing your profile, password or account still asks for your password on the server; the stored item alone cannot do that.
The item stays on this device so you remain signed in between visits, until you log out or clear the site's data. The chat token in it stops working after 30 days, and you then sign in again.
Why it is used and whether consent is needed
The item is used only to provide the sign-in experience you request. The current beta has no analytics or advertising storage and no consent banner is needed for those purposes.
If analytics, advertising, or any other non-essential storage is added later, this page and the consent approach must be revisited before that change is made.
Third-party requests from the map
The map page loads its scripts and styles from cdn.jsdelivr.net (MapLibre and PMTiles), and map label fonts from demotiles.maplibre.org. Your browser connects to those services directly. They may receive your IP address and browser details. Those services are not operated by this project, and this page does not describe their cookie practices.
The network in front of the site
Web traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare (orange-cloud tunnel for globalvectors.app). Cloudflare delivers and protects web traffic. Anonymous live response checks on 13 October 2026 found no Set-Cookie headers for the homepage, www redirect, map or registration page. This is a snapshot, not a promise that cookies will never be set; security challenges and other conditions may result in Cloudflare cookies. See Cloudflare cookie documentation. The hostname trucking.globalvectors.app is DNS-only (grey-cloud) and does not pass through Cloudflare.
No analytics or tracking scripts
The site's own pages do not include analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts.
Clearing the stored item
You can clear the stored item at any time:
- Log out on the site removes
gv_session. - Most browsers let you clear the data a site has stored. Look in the browser's site settings for "site data", "cookies and site data", or "manage website data", and clear the entry for this site. Browser developer tools also show, and can delete, local storage entries under the Storage or Application tab.
Clearing the item signs you out on that device. You can sign in again at any time.
