How do I get the supported version on Steam?
  1. Close Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Global Vectors.
  2. Open Steam → Library. Right-click Euro Truck Simulator 2 and select Properties.
  3. Open Betas (called Game Versions & Betas in some Steam clients) and select None (the normal public version). If you used temporary_1_61 before, switch back to None.
  4. Let Steam finish updating. Start ETS2 once normally and check that the version shown on its main menu is 1.61.1.9.
  5. Close ETS2, then launch it through the Global Vectors shortcut. The launcher updates itself automatically.

If Steam moves to a newer version before Global Vectors supports it, the launcher will tell you. Do not bypass the version check; ask the beta team for the current supported-version instructions.

Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

Global Vectors is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you the first time you run the installer. Click More info, then Run anyway. The installer then downloads the latest Global Vectors files from globalvectors.app.

Can I use my save from a newer game version?

A newer save may not load on an older game version. Keep a backup and use a profile or save compatible with 1.61.1.9. Your map and other installed mods must also support that game version.

Do I need to download the installer again for an update?

No. Open Global Vectors with ETS2 closed. It checks for client updates before launch. When the in-game update notice appears, close ETS2 and reopen Global Vectors. Approved small mods and the host’s mod whitelist are refreshed during startup.

Why am I on a waiting list?

Installer access is approved by the project owner during closed beta. Register an account, wait for approval, then confirm your account on the Download page. Installed clients continue receiving automatic updates.

Is there a public API?

Yes, read-only and free to use, no login needed (plain GET requests, JSON replies). Open any link to try it:
